Here's the first of 32
photographs, the entrance to our Mexican timeshare exchange at
the Grand Mayan, right off the four lane main highway 307 on the
Yucatan Peninsula. This is the view looking north from Playa del
Carmen towards the Cancun airport about a half hour drive away.
We rented a small car with a stick shift at the airport for $193
(from Alamo). It was pretty reasonable for the week, saving us
airport transfer fees and $20 cab rides (each way) into Playa
del Carmen. It's nice to have a car if you want to explore Tulum,
Xel-Ha and Xcaret. Temperatures were in the mid 80s every day
for the week we were there in early January, 2008. The only rain
was for a few minutes one night.
