This 2002 Toyota RAV4-EV belongs to a client of mine here in Northern California. She loves her car! Unfortunately, Chevron Oil Company now owns the patent rights to its nickel metal hydride battery and successfully sued Toyota to stop its production. The 100+ mile per charge battery would be perfect to mate with the Prius or other hybrid car. Gasoline would be used only as a backup fuel.

One of my passions is an interest in electric cars and the need for competition in transportation propulsion. Since most families own at least two cars, if one was an electric car or "plug-in hybrid", U.S. gasoline consumption would be dramatically reduced and prices might even fall. Oil is a great fuel for airplanes, ships, trucks, freight trains and motorhomes, but let's insist on this very practical alternative to gasoline for cars, NOW!
